ok i got a good post...after reading today's newspaper mr chiam was talking about widen income gap cause by foreign worker...his idea was introduce a minimum wages for singaporean only because our wage are being pull down by foreigner...
my view are if u do that firstly u are going the make it harder for singporean to find job my reason is if u were a company would hire a foreigner tat command less pay our a singaporean with a min wage limit tat u nid to care for ok there is a minimum number of singaporean tat the company nids to hire for them to be located in sg...i were the companies i would say so wat i just move to another country nearby and cheaper "haha".
ok now my idea....intro a minimum wage for all who work in sg..ok u ask why right?
1)you solve the problem of low wages
2)you attact more foreigner with a minimum wage coz to them it is higher
3)you solve the problem of foreigner going for lower wage as he or she is caps by the minimum wage hitting 2 bird with 1 stone coz this bring the lower income sg people to the same lvl of the foreigner making more compeition between themwhich is good let me tell u why.in doing tat sg VOTERS are more happy coz their wage cant go any lower and foreigner are happy coz their wage are higher

how to going about doing this the govtment can go about doing surevy every year to judge the minium wage for all...wat the survery should include?

1)wat is your average monthly household income
2)wat is your monthly salary
3)how many ppl are there in your household

arggh i dun know lah just try to find out wat is the minimum amount of money is needed for average sg VOTERS the survice in singapore then use tat as a guide for the minimum wage intro

also got retrain and redesign of sg workers.. ok i like the fact tat this is done ...but i have my fears too firstly i go by example : my friends works in IT indusity poly grad ok going to a job interview for poly ppl (salary wise) guess wat he saw ? uni grad from india (erm no race or country discrimantion here jst an example) u all know how good india is at IT now guess who got the job lah...zzz basisly you are holding a double edge sword... ok govt say upgrade yourself lah go uni then come out go interview for poly ppl (salary wise) then you are over qualifed ...zzz
you will be surprise some company will tell u tat...yes u say company can tell the same to the uni grad from india bt u think lah their IT are better and they ask for lower then poly grad pay how to reject them?
