Kelvin`s basketball story

I got interested in basketball at age 5, watching my older cousin play. i was a-lot shorter then cant play with them.
Even during primary school i was shorter, even shorter then some of the girls in catholicism class.
Then in secondary school i shot up in the height department, in just months. My PE teacher ask to see my mom as i was underweight "eat more" she say to my aunt who went in place of my working mom.

i start playing seriously basketball at age 14.
Playing in school was boring as i was in a soccer playing school only afew people play soccer.
Instead i play in whampoa CC where there were alot of people before they remove the courts and replace them with a garden.

Anyway i got to know a-lot of people after confirmation then joined little rocks soon after.
i think they already were playing basketball before i join.

I got invite to join them in their game and soon after almost all their games i was there.
Ian once said i was a small forward i cant remember the reason but ... ya he said i was a small forward.

At that time my dribbling was not very good as well. my shooting had limited range.
only my rebounding can pass. my passing has some problems.
Luckily the guys still play with me.

Not long after i join ITE and got lucky again...i got selected to join their school basketball team.
The PE teacher saw me as a average overall player She told me once that they can put me in most position except point-guard cited dribbling as my greatest weakness.
She saw that quite a-lot in the inter-class basketball we played earlier.

That year i also found a good friend, feng taught and corrected most of my fundamental of basketball. I learnd shooting, defence and shot blocking from him.
We got to play everyday after and during lesson...lol

Our school achieved 4th in the inter-school basketball.
i playing in almost every game of the inter-school tournament
As a bench-warmer...lol
But i do get some playing time as my starting center and forward gets into foul problens easily.
At 1.75m, i play forward most of time as they teammate say i got the skill to play center but i am just not hardy enough. i only play center after our 2nd center fouls out...lol

Anyway, i would say my basketball day ended in my army day
As the SOC last station call "the Ramp" killed my knees.

The doctor said "your knees soft bone is nearly gone but i still cant downgrade you because alot of our NS-man have bad knees anyway and nothing had gone wrong with them"
I repiled "So i must wait for something to happen lah."
The doctor gave me a silence stare and i was asked to leave the room.

I still play a-bit of basketball but not too long of a period. knees pain is the issue

Olympic is ok lah

i watch both men and women's US vs China games.

China needs to work alot of their turnoversssss and getting the ball to yao ming
actually they need to get a good point guard that does not lose the ball every time when pressure is on.

All of the US players has play against or with yao ming in NBA and they got an idea of what he can do
that is why when yao gets the ball the US team packs it in...US can do with outside shooting of china but not a yao ming dunk as they cant just let yao get hot.

This is why yao gets fouled quickly or triple team every time he gets the ball
and i dun see yao`s team giving him much help.

China needs to get some1 to team with yao....an inside/outside presence.
like karl malone and john stockton of the utah jazz or kobe and shaq of LA.

In china vs US`s game i can see a Hack-a-yao which is ok as he has better freethrow %
But china needs to put the ball in yao`s hand before the hack-a-yao can go into effect.

And stop playing transition game, US team are damm good at playing runnnig basketball games.
Play slow post-up game, they will get impatient and foul alot.
Let them foul yao in act of shooting.
Play hardcore zone defence stop creating driving lanes for them.

New bike woes
Hi Guys, for those of you who didn't know...ya i got a bike. it's a jamie durango.
So fun riding the bike...going down hill is the most fun haha up hill is not...arrggh.

Anyway let bitch about some idiotic road users that me and my friend came across.

yesterday my friend went bike riding with his wife, when they were crossing the zebra cross
a car came a nearly ran over my friend. He shouted "oi" the car driver stop then scolded my friend...saying this zebra crossing is only for pedestrian. but didn't they teach us at driving school that we have to stop at zebra crossing if anyone was nearby the zebra crossing area hmmm how did the car user get his license...hahah

My bike was nearly kill by a merc driver. There are some slip road in singapore with traffic light, i know most slip road are zebra cross but for my case i was on the walk path attempting to cross the slip road using the traffic. i got off my bike and waited for the light to turn green man and when it did i started to push my bike across the road, then suddenly the merc ran the traffic light and nearly ran into my bike. i had to drag back my bike to avoid this accident. then you know what happen??? i look at the merc as it drive off, the driver was showing me his nice finger. Not hard to guess which finger that was right?
wow singapore is a damm "fine" city i love singapore happy independent day!!!
